Sparganium L. (Typhaceae) includes five taxa in the aquatic flora of Iran. Sparganium emersum and S. natans are reported here for the first time in Iran and Flora Iranica area. These species were collected in two high mountain wetlands in Ardabil province. A detailed determination key for five Iranian Sparganium taxa is given.

During field works in Qazvin and West Azarbaijan provinces, some interesting specimens of the genus Silene were found. Silene capitellata (sect. Capitellatae) which is mostly growing in Turkey has been collected in Qazvin, Alamout Mountains. S. retinervis (sect. Auriculatae) was described from Ghandil Mountain of Iraq by Ghazanfar, were collected in three localities from Pyranshahr and Ziveh of West Azarbaijan province. In this article, these two perennial species are reported as new records in Iran. The taxonomical description, geographical distribution and the ecology of the new records are provided and their photographs and illustrations are presented.

Cousinia apiculata, C. raddeana and Scutellaria lindbergii which have been collected from Khorasan province are reported as new species to Iran.

Five species of sorediate lichens are reported as new to Iran: Lepraria crassissima, L. diffusa, L. lobificans, L. vouauxii, and Arthonia endlicheri.

Some 340 isolates belonging to Mucorales, obtained from rhizosphere of root knot nematode host plants in Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari Province, were studied during 2003-5. Fourteen new taxa, namely, Absidia spinosa, Actinomucor elegans, Cunninghamella echinulata var. echinulata, C. echinulata var. nodosa, C. echinulata var. verticillata, Mucor circinelloides f. circinelloides, M. circinelloides f. lusitanicus, M. hiemalis f. luteus, M. inaequisporus, M. plumbeus, M. racemosus f. racemosus, M. ramosissimus, M. variosporus and Zygorhynchus heterogamus are recorded from Iran.

Three new specie including Pimpinella gilanica (Apiaceae), Potentilla humilis (Rosaceae) and Verbascum gilanicum (Scrophulariaceae) are described. In addition, three new records including Aethusa cynapium L. (Apiaceae), Hypochaeris glabra L. (Asteraceae) and Turritis laxa (Sibth. & Sm.) Hayek (Brassicaceae) are reported as new records for the flora of Iran.

Two new species, Lactuca birjandica and L. gilanica (Asteraceae) are described. In addition, a new record, Cichorium glandulosum Boiss. & Huet. is reported for Iran. Furthermore an interesting collection of Lactuca muralis L. from Gilan Forest in Iran is discussed for the first time. Taxonomic characters and illustrations are given for all species.

Thymus marandensis Jamzad is described as a species new to science. It is closely related to Th. persicus (Ronniger ex Rech. f. ) Jalas,Th. brachychilus Jalas and Th. leucotrichus Hal. Thymus linearis Benth. subsp.  linearis, Satureja macrosiphonia Bornm. and Micromeria cristata (Hampe) Griseb. subsp. cristata are reported for the first time from Iran. Their distribution patterns are discussed.

Through a survey of macrofungi in Ghalajeh heights and its surrounding plains, conducted from 2014-2017, twelve specimens of macroascomycota were collected. The specimens were identified on the basis of macro-and micro-morphological characteristics. The internal transcribed spacer sequences of the selected specimens were analyzed to confirm the morphological identification. Based on the results, five species, including Terfezia claveryi, Tirmania pinoyi, Helvella acetabulum, Picoa juniperi and Picoa lefebvrei were identified. T. claveryi and T. pinoyi species had been previously reported from Kermanshah Province, but H. acetabulum, P. juniperi and P. lefebvrei species were reported for the first time.
